12.28 Other bodies and organisations which sponsor lifelong learning will also need to bear in mind any new national strategy in determining their own priorities. This should include ways in which their own support for lifelong learning can best be dovetailed in with public funding and the deployment of any other resources, both public and private. Bodies, such as the new University for Industry and TECs, will also play a critical role. To them will fall the responsibility for brokering support and provision for lifelong learning between learners and providers, including, where necessary, acting as catalysts for change by encouraging the development of new materials.
