Helping Adult Learners Plan, Monitor and Record their Learning Achievements

04 March 2004

Progress File: Achievement Planner is a set of interactive materials designed to help young people and adults manage their own learning and career development. It does this by supporting individuals in reviewing and planning their development, and recording their achievements.

Progress File Broadening Horizons - the CD-ROM or paper version - is designed to help adults make the most of themselves and their opportunities. It can help with decisions at different stages in your life, known as "Trigger Points" - eight examples are given although there are many others which may be experienced. Broadening Horizons can be used to:

  • provide evidence for use in recruitment and selection
  • support appraisal and performance review
  • help to adapt to new employment settings and manage change effectively
  • review, record individual achievement, skills and qualifications
  • assist with target setting, action planning and portfolio building
  • reinforce training and development programmes
  • complement continuous professional development (CPD).

Visit the case studies section of the Progress File website for examples of successful use in employment and training.

Booklets and CD-ROMs can be ordered from Prolog on 0845 6022260.
