Learning information and advice

learndirect

learndirect is a helpline offering information and advice on all aspects of learning opportunities, including availability of local courses.

Lines are open all year round from 9am to 9pm, Mondays to Fridays, and from 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays. Call free on 0800 100 900.

There’s also a learndirect website on www.learndirect.co.uk

Other organisations

Local branches of the following organisations can often advise on local learning opportunities available to older learners. Many of them also provide learning opportunities themselves. Activities will vary from area to area. Libraries, of course, also offer an invaluable learning support service, and by 2002 will be linked to the National Grid for Learning.
