Better information
Chapter 3 Section 6

3.19 One way to help raise standards is to collect information about current performance, and this is why we propose that companies should publish better information about their investment in skills. Business, employees, and investors all have an interest in this. The Government needs to know how the nation as a whole is performing, given the importance of skills for our economic future.

3.20 We are working with the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and others to develop a system for benchmarking information on training investment. We want organisations' annual reports to reflect their level of investment in human capital. We propose to discuss with Investors in People UK, the Auditing Standards Board and business how they might support greater transparency of information about training.

On-line Consultation

Q. How should this information be publicised?
