- British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (Voluntary Organisation, £66,110) - provide training and skills development to 100 tenants from 3 housing estates in Lambeth so that they are better equipped to take part in community affairs, including environmental improvements and conservation.
- Ethnic Business Development Corporation (Voluntary Organisation, £10,000) - undertook development work to establish a human resource pool of local technical and professional personnel to help small ethnic minority organisations with organisational development and fund raising etc.
- London Borough of Hillingdon/Bell Farm Church (Local Authority/Community Group Partnership, £83,315) - run a project to train older people for a variety of voluntary roles and to set up a centre for informal learning based at church aimed premises. The project builds on successful other work with older learners.
- The Kosh (Charity, £57,500) - are running a series of short intensive courses in video film production around the theme of identity with young people excluded or disaffected from education and training.
- Commission for Filipino Migrant Workers (Voluntary Organisation, £40,860) - titled 'New Skills for Domestic Workers', this project provides access to training and development - via IT training - for people who are currently marginalised and are non-learners.
- Coram Leaving Care Services (Voluntary Organisation, £75,000) - will improve the basic skills and qualifications of young people in and leaving care aged 16-25 years, so that they have increased chances of accessing further education, training and employment.
- Cranstoun Drug Services (Voluntary Organisation, £69,300) - will offer a range of residential and day care services for people with substance misuse problems via a programme of basic skills learning. This includes computer studies, literacy and numeracy tuition.
- Focus Central London (TEC, £73,303) - through their project - 'Off the Streets and Into Work' - Focus aims to deliver a series of workshops/performances in various hostels. day centres and shelters, with the aim to engage homeless young people into meaningful occupations.
- London Black Women is Health (Voluntary Organisation, £70,708) - will provide English language training to Somali women to improve their English language competence in the context of women's health and community development.
- PRAXIS Women and Training Team (Voluntary Organisation, £72,485) - are to work with women who are refugees and migrants, who are isolated due to a lack of childcare, lack of English language, and working conditions and family responsibilities. Through their project, PRAXIS aim to improve English language skills, develop self-confidence and raise the awareness of education, training and community opportunities.
- Royal National Institute for the Deaf - Action for Inclusion (Voluntary Organisation, £71,441) - aim to reach deaf adults who are currently excluded from the hearing community, and more widely education and employment opportunities. The project aims to enable deaf people to feel more confident in public, and participate in social activities through an integrated programme of practical basic skills support, self-advocacy and confidence building.
- Tamil Refugee Training and Education Centre (Registered Charity, £75,000) - will provide English language skills and basic vocational skills (computer skills) to Tamil refugees living in London. This will provide participants with opportunities to obtain employment, or enter into further education and training with a view to secure employment. The project wills also enable participants to become involved in community activities and become better citizens.
- Waltham Forest Community Learning Partnership (Consortia of Voluntary Groups and Enterprises, £75,000) - are to develop a programme of skills training targeted at local unemployed people with no recognisable skills or qualifications via local community businesses. This will include basic skills, ESOL, first aid, computing, marketing and fund raising.

- Fairbridge (Voluntary Organisation, £72,409) - using football as a focus, Fairbridge aims to promote learning, including basic literacy, numeracy and healthy living skills, among disaffected young adults from the cities of Newcastle, Middlesborough, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.
- Groundwork (Voluntary Organisation, £75,000) - aims, through Groundwork Trusts within England, to train local mentors to provide basic skills support to people from a broad cross-section of the community who are involved in local conservation programmes. Training will include individual and group teaching, and a week's residential workshop.
