Projects managed by the Basic Skills Agency

BSA-managed Projects

The Basic Skills Agency (BSA) oversees ACLF projects that are funded to deliver basic skills provision. These projects find hooks to learning that will attract adults in the community that are the hardest to reach and would benefit from literacy, numeracy and ESOL support.

The Agency helps non-educational organisations to embed effective basic skills provision into their services. It encourages increasing use of new technology wherever possible. Basic skills programmes may be delivered one-to-one or in small groups. Focusing on new approaches to teaching basic skills, courses are learner-driven by need and interest.

There are basic skills and other outomes for the learner and multi-skilling, capacity-building and partnership working outcomes for the community.
